Rio de Janeiro, the city evokes an image of beaches, Carnivale and the giant statue (Cristo Redentor) on the mountain (Corcovado). Copacabana, Ipanema and Sugar Loaf Mountain are all well known names. What I enjoyed most was walking on the beach on the weekend with all the activity - soccer games, beach volleyball, cliff diving, street performers and soaking up the sun, then sitting in a local cafe eating dinner.
Staying at a hotel on Avenida Atlantica on Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro with tours to Corcovado (site of Cristo Redentor), Sugar Loaf Mountain and Ipanema Beach.
